Home School Link Workers

Hello from Cheryl Andreozzi-Picton and Nicola Webster.  We are the Home School Link Workers at Walton Leigh.

At Walton Leigh we are keen to support the whole family, and in our roles as Home School Link Workers, we are here to assist your child in their continued development and well-being in any way required; we are happy to support you at all meetings and to present the school’s knowledge and perspective of your child.

Please do not hesitate to contact us with any problem or concern, no matter how insignificant it may seem; if it is affecting your child and family we would like to help you resolve the issue.

As your child gets older we can offer support and advice regarding the next steps and what is available post 19.

Our working hours are as follows - Cheryl: Monday to Thursday, 8:30am - 3pm.  Nicola: Thursday and Friday 8:30am - 2:30pm.  We can be contacted by email or phone:

  • Education Maintenance Allowance (age 16-19)

Education Maintenance Allowance – EMA – is an income-assessed weekly allowance of £30 to help students with the cost of further education. It is paid every two weeks directly into the student’s bank account.

Qwell offer online emotional wellbeing and mental health support. Surrey have enabled access for all parents of SEND children, just click on the 'Join Qwell' button on the website's homepage to get started.

  •  Walton & Hersham Foodbank

 St Peters Church Hall (not the church), 1 Burwood Road, Hersham, KT12 4AA. Now open every Wednesday 10-12pm, St Johns Church, The Furrows (Off Ambleside Avenue), Walton on Thames, KT12 3JQ

Now open Thursdays & Fridays 10-12pm. Voucher e-codes available via Paula Waspe (HSLW at Three Rivers), Citizens Advice, Family Support Workers, Housing Support Officers etc

  •   Elmbridge Eco Hub

  •  Surplus to Supper 

Fresh food that would otherwise have gone to waste is redistributed for free to support local foodbanks, schools, care homes, shelters, clubs, religious organisations and more.

  • Walton Charity (Individual Grants)

 Direct grants to Elmbridge residents in need of financial assistance eg. white goods, childcare, holiday clubs, learning and development, bikes etc https://www.waltoncharity.org.uk/direct-grants   

  •   Oasis

 Can provide the support parents need to create a stable and secure environment for their children, esp families with financial hardship, domestic violence, some single parent families, and those with drug or alcohol addictions.   • St Peters Church Molesey

 There’s loads going on, from youth drop in sessions, a community breakfast and parents, babies and toddlers groups to the Great Create (a mental wellbeing crafting group), East Elmbridge food bank’s Thursday centre session and more. https://www.spwm.org.uk/#Community

  •  Surrey Crisis Fund

 Provides financial help to Surrey residents who have nowhere else to turn in an emergency or following a disaster.
